Hello!
I’m Sheryl Chiles and your first point of contact when leasing a Bay at Plaza 7110 in North Red Deer. I’m proud to share our story.
History of Plaza 7110
Originally my family purchased this land and started a Mobile Home sales lot, Chiles Homes. One of my first memories as a child is cleaning the mobile homes with my mother. We lived in a mobile home on this lot.
As years passed my father developed the Chiles Industrial Park and moved the mobile home sales lot further north, then he focused on Land Development.
The now renovated CENTEX gas station was Phase One of this complex. My sister Denise owns and manages the gas station and I look after the “L” shaped mall with the recognizable red roof.
My folks are now 85 and 86 residing in their home and my brother Brian drives the van to pick them up to go to work. My brother can be seen in the parking lot frequently as he is over-seeing the Gas Station renovation and repaving the parking lot. It truly is a family affair.
At the age of 34 I went back to university and received my Bachelor of Management degree. I serve many roles here at the Plaza. I’m the property manager, painter, problem solver, and have become my own real estate agent.
The challenge came with the pandemic, and we opted for the strategy of “holding steady”. We signed short leases, this allowed the tenant to make real time decisions. The result was a handful of open bays.
These bays have now been painted and fixed by my hand-picked contractors.
I think I wear work boots more often than street shoes, let’s change that. I look at this as an opportunity to rebuild our North business community. Sure, things have changed over the last five years. Let’s evolve together in this capricious market.
In the end, I’m committed to the process and offer a triple net lease, four walls, a roof, heating and air conditioning and each bay has a washroom for sure. The common area charges cover – water usage, cardboard and garbage removal, use and maintenance of the parking lot, city taxes, and structural upkeep. The rest is up to you and your clients.
